Dr Lois Eva is a Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist and Clinical Director of
Gynaecological Oncology at Auckland hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer
with the University of Auckland and specialises in gynaecological cancers and
precancers, with a particular interest in vulva, and is an expert colposcopist.

She studied medicine at the Royal Free Hospital, in the UK and trained in general
obstetrics and gynaecology in London, with a year as a senior registrar in
Auckland. She underwent sub specialist training in Gynaecological Oncology in
Birmingham, UK and holds both RCOG and ESGO qualifications.

She returned to New Zealand in 2008 as a Gynaecological Oncologist and leads
the Vulval and Colposcopy clinic at Auckland City Hospital and Gynae Oncology
services for the Northern and Midland regions.

She is the current Vice President of the Australian Society of Colposcopy and
Cervical pathology (ASCCP) and teaches vulval surgery for the International
Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) and the IGCS Education
programme.

Her MD thesis was in vulval disease, and she has published extensively on vulval
cancers and precancers and she is on the faculty of the International Society for
the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease Postgraduate Courses.

She is a member the Ministry of Health Working Group for the National Planning
of Gynaecological Oncology services in New Zealand and co-author of the NCSP
primary HPV screening guidelines.
